Aims and Scope
The Caucasus Journal of Social Sciences (CJSS) publishes original scholarly research across the broad field of the social sciences. Manuscripts should make a meaningful contribution to academic knowledge through original research, theoretical analysis, critical discussion, or comprehensive review.
Before preparing a submission, authors should ensure that their manuscript falls within the journal's stated aims and scope. Manuscripts outside the journal's scope may be declined before peer review.
Originality and Prior Publication
Authors may submit only original work.
By submitting a manuscript, the corresponding author confirms that:
- the manuscript has not been published previously in any language, except where a translated version is clearly disclosed and permission has been obtained where necessary;
- the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal or publisher;
- all authors have approved the submitted version;
- the work does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
Duplicate submission, duplicate publication, and redundant publication are considered publication misconduct and may result in rejection or other editorial action.
Authorship
Only individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the conception, design, execution, interpretation, or writing of the research should be listed as authors.
All authors should:
- approve the final manuscript;
- agree to its submission;
- accept responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the work.
The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the Editorial Office throughout the submission, peer-review, and publication process and for ensuring that all co-authors are informed at every stage.
ORCID iD Requirement
CJSS requires all authors to have a registered ORCID iD.
ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes researchers, improves attribution, and enhances the discoverability of scholarly publications.
If you do not yet have an ORCID iD, you may register free of charge at:
Language Requirements
All manuscripts must be submitted in English.
Authors may use either British English or American English, provided that spelling, grammar, punctuation, and terminology remain consistent throughout the manuscript.
Research articles should include a structured abstract of no more than 250 words under the following headings:
- Background
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
Manuscripts requiring substantial language revision may be returned to the authors before entering peer review.
Publication Ethics
CJSS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authors are expected to comply with all ethical requirements relating to authorship, originality, research ethics, conflicts of interest, transparency, and responsible reporting.
Authors should carefully review the journal's Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement before submitting their manuscript.
Research Integrity
Authors should ensure that all research findings are reported honestly, accurately, and transparently.
Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, inappropriate image manipulation, citation manipulation, and undisclosed conflicts of interest constitute publication misconduct.
Where applicable, manuscripts should include statements regarding:
- ethical approval;
- informed consent;
- funding;
- conflicts of interest;
- data availability.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Authors may use generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools only in accordance with the journal's Artificial Intelligence Policy.
Any use of AI during manuscript preparation must be disclosed transparently within the manuscript. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, validity, and integrity of all submitted work.
Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors.
