Authorship and Contributorship
The Caucasus Journal of Social Sciences (CJSS) adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and requires transparent and responsible authorship practices. Authorship must reflect substantial scholarly contribution, shared responsibility, and accountability for the integrity of the work.
Authorship Criteria
All listed authors must meet the following criteria:
- Substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, or to data collection, analysis, or interpretation;
- Participation in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for intellectual content;
- Approval of the final version of the manuscript;
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work.
Individuals who do not meet all criteria should not be listed as authors but may be acknowledged appropriately.
Contributorship Statement
All submissions must include an Author Contributions statement specifying the role of each author. CJSS encourages the use of standardized contribution categories (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, analysis, writing, supervision) to ensure transparency.
Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors meet authorship criteria, that no eligible contributor has been omitted, and that all co-authors have approved the submitted and final versions of the manuscript.
Changes to Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be submitted in writing, with a clear explanation and the agreement of all authors. Editorial processing may be suspended until the issue is resolved.
Authorship Disputes
Authorship disputes should be resolved by the authors and their affiliated institutions. CJSS may pause review or publication in cases of unresolved disputes.
Unethical Authorship Practices
CJSS does not permit ghost, guest, or gift authorship. Any suspected misrepresentation may result in rejection or further editorial action in accordance with the journal’s ethics policy.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the content of the manuscript and must disclose any significant use of AI-assisted technologies where applicable.
Example of Author Contributions Statement
Author Contributions:
Author A: Conceptualization, methodology, writing (original draft).
Author B: Data analysis, writing, review, and editing.
Author C: Supervision, project administration.
All authors approved the final version and agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work.
