This study attempts to determine the socio-economic factors affecting
participation in local community head elections in Armenia.
To that end, a binary logistic regression model was estimated using
the household survey data gathered by the Caucasus Research
Resource Center’s (CRRC) regional office in Armenia, within the
framework of the Civic Engagement in Local Governance (CELoG)
Project. The results of the estimation showed that economic
condition, settlement type, age, awareness of local government
powers, and trust were statistically significant determinants of participation
in local community head elections.
