Prof. Dr. Helmut Satzger is a distinguished Full Professor of German, European, and International Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU). He also specializes in Economic Criminal Law and serves as the Head of Criminal Law Professors at LMU.
Academic Background & Research
Prof. Satzger studied German law at the University of Passau (1986–1992), where he specialized in English, French, and Spanish law and legal language. He holds a Diploma in Legal Studies from King’s College London and earned his doctorate in economic criminal law.
His academic career includes tenures as a Full Professor at Bucerius Law School (Hamburg) and the University of Augsburg before joining LMU Munich in 2004.
