Abstract

Death has been perceived differently in different eras. Philosophers who have studied this subject point out that the origins of different cultures were greatly shaped by their different approaches to the problem of death. Cultures and eras differed in how people perceived death, and whether they found the strength to oppose physical destruction. In some eras and cultures, the fear of
death did not dominate as it did in ancient cultures.
