About Michael Vickers

Professor Michael Vickers, DLitt, Hon. Dr. (Batumi State University), is Professor Emeritus of Archaeology at the University of Oxford and an Emeritus Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford. He is a former Curator of Greek and Roman Antiquities at the Ashmolean Museum and has held prestigious teaching and research positions across various universities worldwide.

Prof. Vickers has contributed extensively to the fields of Greek and Roman archaeology, history, and literature, with a particular focus on:

Political imagery in Greek art and drama, especially in Aristophanes and Sophocles.
